Rose bot alternative: Replio vs Rose for Telegram groups

Rose (MissRose_bot) is one of the most widely used free moderation bots on Telegram: a huge set of chat commands for bans, warnings, blocklists and locks, plus federations that share bans between groups. Replio is a different kind of bot. It answers members from your business's own knowledge base, alerts your team when a person is needed, and runs contests that reward real members. This page says which one a group needs, and when the answer is both.

We read Rose's own documentation and FAQ on 30 September 2026. Rose changes slowly and is run by one developer, but check missrose.org before you decide, and where we could not confirm something in its docs we say so rather than guess.

The short answer

What Rose does, according to its own docs

Rose launched in 2018 as the successor to an older bot called Marie. It is closed source and, according to its About page, owned and developed by one person, with volunteers helping in the support chat. You add @MissRose_bot to a group and make it an admin; without admin rights it cannot moderate. Everything is done with commands, and there is no web dashboard that we could find. To change settings without typing in the group you use connections: send Rose a direct message, connect to a group you administer, and issue the same commands privately.

The documentation's module list covers:

The public bot is free. Rose says it is paid for by custom clones and occasional brand collaborations, and that it does not sell user data. The paid clones, Rose Core and Rose Premium, give a group its own bot name and picture, scheduled and repeated messages, announcement broadcasts and higher limits on filters and notes.

What we did not find in Rose

None of this is a criticism, because a moderation bot is not meant to be a support agent. But it is the reason people go looking for an alternative, so we will be precise about it. In Rose's documentation we found no AI features, no analytics or statistics, no giveaway or contest tool, no hand-off to a support team and no channel other than Telegram. Treat those absences as our reading, not a guarantee: some of its command pages were not reachable when we checked, so a feature could exist that we did not see.

The practical consequence is that Rose answers what you have pre-written. A filter for "price" can post your price list. It cannot read your refund policy and answer "I paid twice, what happens now?", and it cannot notice that a message is a complaint that needs a person.

Where Replio is genuinely different

Answers from your knowledge base, not from a list of triggers

Replio's agent reads what you give it: your FAQ, website, policies and price list. When a member asks a question in the group, it answers with your facts in the member's language, and if your knowledge base does not cover it, it says so instead of inventing an answer. You do not have to guess every question in advance, which is the limit of a filter list.

People are brought in when they should be

Complaints, payment problems and requests for a human trigger an alert to your team on WhatsApp or Telegram with the conversation attached, and the member is told what happens next. Messages that look like scams in the group, such as fake "support" accounts or wallet-drainer links, also alert the team, even when the bot itself stays quiet.

One agent across channels

Members who ask in your Telegram group also write on WhatsApp, Messenger and your website. The same agent answers on all of them from one knowledge base, and every conversation lands in one shared inbox. Rose is Telegram only.

Contests with anti-farming rules

Replio runs Invite and Win contests where a join counts only after the new member solves the captcha and stays past a 24-hour gate, quiz rounds on Telegram's native quiz polls where every correct answer scores, task campaigns where members submit proof, and raffles. Announcements can be scheduled to every linked group. The bot also knows which contest is live, so when someone asks how to enter, it tells them.

Where Rose is the better choice

If your group has a few thousand members, an admin team who like commands and no customer questions to speak of, Rose costs nothing and does the job better than Replio would. Its federations are the standout: a shared ban list built up by many communities is something a newer bot cannot replicate by writing code. Its filters and notes cover the fixed-answer questions well, it can be run from DMs through connections, and it has been running since 2018. The honest limits on Replio's side are that its moderation is basic and that it costs money. If those two facts settle it, stay with Rose.

Running Replio and Rose in the same group

  1. Keep one captcha. If you rely on Rose's, leave Replio's join captcha off. Two captchas on one join lock people out.
  2. Keep one moderator. Rose owns bans, locks and blocklists. Use Replio's keyword blocking only for words specific to your business, or not at all.
  3. Add Replio for questions. Add the Replio bot, make it an admin, send the link code from your dashboard in the group, and turn on mention-only mode so it replies only when @mentioned or replied to.
  4. Point members to it. Replio posts and pins a short "how to get help" note when you link it. Move any Rose filter that tries to answer a question Replio can now answer, so the two bots do not reply to the same message.

How to add Replio to a Telegram group

  1. Start the 7-day trial and add your knowledge base: paste your FAQ, or give it your website.
  2. Add @Replio_live_bot to the group as an admin with Restrict members and Delete messages if you want the captcha and spam removal.
  3. Send the /link code from your dashboard in the group, from your own account rather than anonymously as the group.
  4. Choose captcha, mention-only replies, the welcome message and who gets escalation alerts.
  5. @mention the bot with a real question your members ask, and check the answer before you announce it.

Telegram and the website widget come with every paid plan. Starter is $49 a month with one of WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger, 2 seats and 8,000 AI replies. Scale is $149 with all three, 5 seats and 30,000 AI replies. Pro is $349 with 15 seats, 50,000 AI replies and your own branded Telegram bot. Customer messages are unlimited on every plan, and contests need a paid plan rather than the trial.

Frequently asked questions

What is Rose bot?
Rose, handle @MissRose_bot, is a Telegram group management bot launched in 2018 as the successor to an earlier bot called Marie. Its documentation lists moderation (bans, mutes, kicks, warnings), anti-spam tools (locks, captcha, blocklists, antiflood, antiraid), filters and notes, greetings, and federations, a shared ban list that linked groups apply automatically. The public bot is free and is controlled by chat commands rather than a web dashboard.
Is Rose bot free, and why would I pay for Replio?
The public Rose bot is free, funded by paid custom clones and occasional brand collaborations. Replio is a paid platform for a different job: it answers members' questions from your own knowledge base, alerts your team when a person is needed, runs contests with anti-farming rules, and answers on WhatsApp, Messenger and your website as well. If your group needs only moderation, Rose is the better value.
Does Rose have AI?
We found no AI features in Rose's documentation, and no knowledge-base answering. It replies with rules you write yourself: filters that fire on a keyword, saved notes and greetings. That works well for repeat questions with a fixed answer. It cannot read your price list or policy and answer a question you did not anticipate, which is what Replio's agent does.
Can I run Replio and Rose in the same Telegram group?
Yes, and it is a sensible setup for a business community. Let Rose keep order with its commands, blocklists and federation bans, and let Replio answer questions and run contests. Use one captcha only, and switch on Replio's mention-only mode so it replies only when someone @mentions it or replies to it, rather than reacting to every message.
Does Replio moderate as deeply as Rose?
No. Replio's moderation is deliberately simple: a list of blocked words, an optional rule that removes any message containing a link, the choice of deleting the message or deleting it and banning the sender, admins exempt, and a maths captcha that mutes new members until they solve it. It has no shared ban list, warning ladder or lock system. For heavy moderation keep Rose, or run both.
Is Rosebot the same as Rose bot?
Yes. Rosebot, Rose bot, Miss Rose and MissRose_bot all refer to the same Telegram moderation bot. Be careful to add it by the exact handle, because Rose's own documentation warns that bots with similar usernames are imposters.
