Replio is now a verified Meta Tech Provider
Meta has verified the business behind Replio as a Tech Provider. The verification confirms that Replio is a real, identified company building software on Meta's platforms for other businesses to use. Below is what that designation actually means, what Meta checks before granting it, and why it is worth knowing when you choose who runs your customer conversations.
What Meta verified
Meta completed Access Verification for the Replio business and confirmed its status as a Tech Provider. In Meta's own words, the business has been verified as a Tech Provider, and no further action is required from us.
It is worth being precise about the scope, because this is an area where marketing language tends to run ahead of the facts. What was verified is the company: that Replio is a genuine legal business, that the people behind it are identifiable and accountable, and that its role on Meta's platforms is building software that other businesses use. It is not a review of any individual feature, it is not a quality certification, and it is not an endorsement of Replio by Meta.
What a Meta Tech Provider actually is
Meta asks every business that connects to its platforms to declare what it is doing there. Most fall into one of two groups.
A direct integration is a company building for itself. A retailer that connects its own WhatsApp number to its own order system is a direct integration. The data starts and ends inside one company, and the only business affected is the one that built it.
A Tech Provider is a company building for everybody else. That is what Replio is. Replio operates the connection to WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Telegram on behalf of the businesses that use it, and the messages flowing through are not Replio's own, they belong to the shops, clinics, agencies and service companies that signed up. Meta treats that as a materially different level of responsibility, because a mistake by a Tech Provider does not affect one business, it affects every business on the platform at once.
So Meta wants to know who that company is before it hands over the access. Hence verification.
Why the verification exists
Messaging platforms have a long history of being used by operators nobody could name. An anonymous script gets access to a messaging API, resells it, disappears when the numbers get banned, and the businesses that trusted it are left with a dead channel and no recourse. Verification is the mechanism Meta uses to make that harder.
The process is an identity and accountability check on the business itself. Broadly, it covers ground like this:
- Legal existence. A real registered entity, with documentation, rather than a name on a landing page.
- Verified control. Confirmation that the business genuinely controls the app, the domain and the contact details it claims.
- A declared platform role. An explicit statement of whether the company builds for itself or for other businesses, which then determines what access it can request.
- Named accountability. A real business on record, so there is someone identifiable behind the integration and a route for enforcement if the platform's rules are broken.
The exact requirements are Meta's, and they change over time. The durable point is the direction of travel: access to business messaging keeps moving toward providers that are willing to be identified, and away from ones that are not.
What this means if you are choosing a support platform
Verification is not a feature you will see in the product. It is a due-diligence answer, and it matters in four practical ways.
You know who you are trusting
Customer support is one of the most sensitive systems a business runs. Every conversation contains names, phone numbers, order details, complaints, and often payment questions. Handing that to a vendor is a real decision, and it should not be made on the strength of a pricing page alone. With a verified Tech Provider, the company operating the integration has been checked and named. Replio is a product of NeoDevz, and that entity is on record with Meta as the provider behind the app.
Compliance is somebody's job
Business messaging has rules: opt-in before you message people, approved templates for outbound, honouring opt-outs, quality ratings that fall if you send things people do not want. A provider operating under a verified designation is doing so under Meta's platform terms, with its own name attached to the outcome. That alignment is the point. It is why Replio builds opt-in handling and STOP opt-out into WhatsApp broadcast rather than leaving compliance as an exercise for the customer.
Data handling has a chain of custody
When messages pass through a platform, somebody is responsible for what happens to them. A verified provider is an identifiable party in that chain rather than an anonymous intermediary. Replio's commitments on data are published in its privacy policy, its security page and its data processing terms, and customers can request deletion through the data deletion process.
Continuity
Providers that operate inside the platform's formal structures are, all else equal, less likely to lose access overnight. That does not make anything guaranteed. It does mean the relationship between your support platform and the channel it depends on is a documented one.
To be clear about what this is not. Tech Provider verification is a check on identity and platform role. It is not a Meta endorsement, a sponsorship, a quality certification, or a badged partner programme, and it does not guarantee any particular result. Meta's brands, logos and badges belong to Meta, and Replio does not use them as its own.
What changes today, and what does not
Honest answer: for existing customers, nothing about the product changes this week. Replio worked the same way the day before the verification as it does the day after. What changed is the standing of the business behind it.
| Area | Status today |
|---|---|
| Tech Provider verification | Complete. Meta has verified the Replio business as a Tech Provider. |
| WhatsApp connection | Unchanged. You connect your own WhatsApp number using your own Meta credentials, or through a BSP. |
| Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, web chat, voice | Unchanged and live. |
| One-click WhatsApp onboarding | Not available. It depends on a separate App Review that is still pending. |
What is next
Tech Provider verification and permission approval are two separate gates at Meta, and passing one does not pass the other.
Replio has a separate App Review submission pending for the WhatsApp permissions, whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management. It was submitted on 16 July 2026, and a decision is expected in early August 2026. It has not been decided yet.
If Meta approves that review, it would open the door to a much simpler WhatsApp connection experience, where a business could authorise its own WhatsApp number through Meta's official flow inside Replio, instead of assembling credentials by hand. That is the intent, and it is the reason the review was submitted. It is not live, no date is promised, and until Meta returns a decision the only accurate thing to say is that it is pending.
We will update this page when there is an outcome to report, either way.
